HOMEMADE POTATO CHIPS/ POTATO WAFERS

 POTATO CHIPS 

Ingredients:
Potato - 2
Salt as needed 
Pepper Powder - 1 pinch 
Chilly Powder - 1 pinch 
Oil for deep frying 


      Wash the potatoes and peel off the skin.
      Slice the potatoes very thin using knife or slicer.
      Transfer the potatoes to ice cold water and let this rest for 15 minutes.


      Excess starch from the potatoes will get washed off.
      Now strain the potatoes and pat dry in a kitchen towel.



      Deep fry the potatoes in hot oil in medium flame.


      Stir occasionally for even frying.
      Do not overcrowd the pan. Otherwise the chips won’t fry evenly.
      Fry until the chips turns crisp.
      Drain off the chips in a tissue paper and immediately transfer to an air tight container.
      Now add salt and mix well.
      We can enjoy salted potato chips as such.
      Sprinkle some pepper powder or chilly powder and toss well.


      Our spicy crunchy potato chips are ready to enjoy.
