STEAMED GREEN FISH IN BANANA LEAF

 STEAMED GREEN FISH 

Ingredients:
Fish - 5 pieces 
Mint Leaves - 1 tbl spoon 
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbl spoon 
Green Chilly - 1 1/2
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece 
Garlic - 3
Salt as needed 
Vinegar / Lemon Juice - 1/4 t spoon 
Oil - 1 tbl spoon 


      Clean fish and make slits.


      Grind together garlic, ginger, green chilly, salt, green chilly, vinegar, coriander leaves, mint leaves to a fine paste.


      Apply over the fish and mix some oil in it.


      Heat a banana leaf in direct stove on both sides for a second to avoid tearing.
      Keep the marinated fish in the banana leaf and make a parcel using a thread.


      Cook the fish in a idly cooker for 10 minutes in medium flame.


      Our green fish will be saucy at this stage.


      We can enjoy green fish as such or roast the fish in a dosa tawa in high heat for 2 minutes on both sides.


      Our steamed green fish is ready to enjoy.
