BLACK RICE CHAKLI/ KARUPPU KAVUNI ARISI MURUKKU

KAVUNI ARISI MURUKKU 

Ingredients:
Karuppia Kavuni Arisi - 1 1/2 cup
Pori Kadalai / - 1/2 cup
Salt as needed 
Red Chilly Powder - 1 tbl spoon 
Ghee - 1 tbl spoon 
White Seasame Seeds - 2 t spoon 
Oil for frying 
Garlic - 3
Asafoetida - 1 pinch 


      Wash and soak kavuni rice overnight.


      Spread the rice in a cloth and dry in shade for 2 hours.


      Grind in a mixer to a fine powder.  


      Grind roasted gram to a fine powder.
      Seive kavuni rice flour, porikadalai flour and add ghee, salt, red chilly powder, seasame seeds, garlic paste, asafoetida and mix well.



      Add 1 t spoon hot oil and mix well.
      Add water and kneed to a soft dough.
      Place the murukku dough in a murukku press and squeeze over hot oil.


      Roast on both sides until bubbles subsides.
      Drain the murukku in a tissue paper so that excess oil gets absorbed.


      Store black rice murukku in an airtight container.
