VARAGU PONGAL
Ingredients:Varagu Rice / Kodo Millet - 1/4 cup
Moong Dal - 1/4 cup
Salt as needed
Water - 2 cups
Ghee - 3 tbl spoon
Curry Leaves - 1 spring
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 t spoon
Pepper - 1 t spoon
Ginger - 1/2 t spoon chopped
Cashewnut - 5
Green Chilly - 1/2
Wash and soak rice and dal for 1/2 an hour.
Pressure cook with water, salt, chopped green chilly for 3 whistles.
Heat ghee in a pan and sauté cumin, asafoetida, curry leaves, ginger, pepper, cashews.
Add the tadka to the Pongal and mix well.
Enjoy millet Pongal with chutney and vadai.
